Every registrant self-reports their BOC certification number and state license. CATN performs a limited administrative screening before listings go live. This screening is limited in scope — users are responsible for independently verifying credentials before engaging any professional.
CATN is a listing directory, not an agency or staffing service. There is no scheduling, messaging, payment processing, or coordination on our end. All contact and arrangements are made directly between the client and the athletic trainer.
Athletic trainers working in the private sector or building an independent practice can list their credentials, specialty, service area, and business website — supporting their SEO and expanding their visibility to potential clients.
ATCs who also hold PT, PTA, CSCS, LAT, or other credentials are encouraged to register and display their full scope. The ATC (BOC certification) remains the required baseline for listing eligibility.

CATN provides a platform for athletic trainers to list their contact information and self-reported professional credentials for public visibility. CATN is not a healthcare provider, staffing agency, referral service, or employer. CATN does not employ, supervise, direct, endorse, recommend, refer, or vouch for any athletic trainer listed in this directory. No provider-patient, employer-employee, principal-agent, or any other professional relationship exists between CATN and any user or listed athletic trainer.
All credential information displayed on this platform — including BOC certification numbers, state license numbers, and any other professional designations — is self-reported by the registrant. CATN performs a limited administrative screening of submitted credential information prior to listing. This screening includes confirming active BOC certification status at the time of initial submission through the BOC's public verification tool (bocatc.org/verify). This screening is limited in scope and does not constitute a comprehensive credential verification. It does not extend to state licensure status, professional liability insurance, disciplinary history, clinical competence, scope-of-practice compliance, or any other aspect of a registrant's qualifications. The screening is performed at the time of initial submission only and is not repeated between annual reverification cycles. Athletic training licensure requirements, scope of practice regulations, and the activities that constitute the practice of athletic training vary significantly by state. Some states require athletic trainers to work under physician supervision; others permit independent practice. Some states require licensure; others do not. CATN makes no representation about any listed athletic trainer's compliance with the licensure, scope of practice, or supervision requirements applicable in any state. Each listed athletic trainer is solely responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable laws, regulations, licensure requirements, and scope of practice standards in every jurisdiction in which they practice.

By registering and maintaining a listing, each listed athletic trainer represents and warrants that: (a) all submitted information is accurate, complete, and currently valid; (b) they hold a current, valid BOC certification (ATC); (c) if practicing in a state that requires athletic trainer licensure, they hold a current, valid state license; (d) they carry appropriate professional liability insurance; (e) they are an independent professional and not an employee, agent, or representative of CATN; (f) they are solely responsible for complying with all applicable licensure, scope of practice, supervision, and other regulatory requirements in every state in which they practice; and (g) they will indemnify and hold harmless CATN from any claims, damages, or losses arising from their services or any misrepresentation of their credentials. Misrepresentation of any material information is grounds for immediate and permanent removal from the directory.
